How To Organize a TedX Conference

A TEDx conference is often times a great way to share not only experience but also knowledge, tips, tricks and fundamental philosophies that can lead a person to succeed in his or her field. Organizing a TEDx conference, however, involves a lot of planning, a lot of waiting and a lot of careful decisions that must be made.

If you've mastered your field, achieved success, have reached goals that were believed to be unreachable, and you want to share your knowledge and experience with the world, this option might be your best shot in order to do so. That being said, how to organize a TEDx conference?

Get Licensed

The first thing that you have to do is get your TEDx license, which you will need it in order to host events, however, unlike other professional licenses that you will be getting, this one does not really require an exam. To get the TEDx license, you need to go to their website, create an account and apply for a license, and in the application process you will be describing your event idea in detail, what it is about, what you are going to be presenting, what you will be talking about, the diversity that you plan on bringing to the table and the knowledge that you want to share.

Getting this license is not a difficult thing to do, and it takes around 8 weeks for the application to be reviewed and answered, however, once you get the license you will have 12 months to organize and hold your event.

Plan The Event In Detail

Once you get the license, you need to start planning every single aspect of the event. Start off by polishing the subject to perfection and coming up with an extensive list of topics, theories, ideas, concepts, and so on, that you will present in the allotted time frame, and once you're satisfied with the list it is time to set the date and a good rule of thumb is to allow for at least 2 months in order to practice.

Then, come up with a list of potential speakers and invite them to join your conference, as well as a list of activities and visual representations that you can make in order to get your point across.

Make The Appointments

Once you've figured everything out, it is time to set things into motion, so you will need to send out invites, see the number of RSVPs that you get, get an estimate of the number of people that will be attending, and then contact TEDx again in order to lock in the date and reserve the venue. As soon as you get the reservations confirmation, you will need to get in touch with the people that have agreed to speak at your event, share every bit of information that you have with them and start practicing for the conference.

It is far too late to change anything now, so if you get new ideas along the way, simply write them down and use them at the next event that you put into motion, and when the day comes, you can hold your event and share your knowledge with the world.

Organizing a TEDx event is an honor that not all people get, and if you do get approved, you will need to make the most of it. Remember that this is not a sales event, nor is it a bragging competition, it is not about you, your company or what you are selling, but rather about the people that will be attending the conference or watching it online and the information, knowledge, and experience that they get out of it.

As long as you organize yourself properly, make sure that the information that you will be presenting is flawless and tailored to minds that want to learn it, get approved by TEDx and get the right speakers, your conference will be a resounding success.
