Getting a Free Account

Online, you can get an account for free by going to coursera.org and clicking the blue “Sign Up” button in the top, righthand corner.

To create an account, you will have to enter information about yourself, and verify your identity through an e-mail process.

Picking Your Courses

Next, you can pick the courses you are interested in. There are over 1,500 courses to choose from, which come from 9 different disciplines options.

Based on what discipline you like, Coursera gives you options, or you can search for classes yourself. Depending on the course, classes can run year around or they start on specific dates of the year.

Studying Time

When you have picked the class that you want to be a part of, now it will be time to study. There will be readings, presentations, quizzes, etc. for you to get working on for your class. Check for modules each week to see what you are responsible for completing. Finish your deadlines, and you will be successful for sure.

Credit Options

A Learner’s Certificate is something you can put on your resume, or you can receive university credit by paying for the course from the specific university you are taking the class from.
